Bingley Bonfire 2014

The Bingley Bonfire 2014

Bingley Bonfire 2014 event details, submitted by Bingley Airedale Rotary Club

The Bingley Bonfire 2014, an iconic part of Bingley life, was started by the members of Bingley Round Table in 1972 and was originally held on land at Bailey Old Hills, before moving to the bottom meadow of Myrtle Park some five years later and is now one of the largest firework displays in the area.

During the early days, the turf on which Bingley Bonfire was burnt had to be lifted prior to the event and re-laid the following day, thankfully no longer a condition today.

When Baildon and District Round Table closed in 2010, The Rotary Club of Bingley Airedale took over the running of Bingley Bonfire, supported and assisted by members of various local charities and organisations.

Bingley Bonfire

The Bingley Bonfire 2014 will once again be held in Myrtle Park, Bingley on Saturday 1st November 2014 starting at 6.00 pm with entertainment provided by Pulse Radio. A full range of refreshments will also be available.

As a family event, a ‘no alcohol, fireworks or pets’ policy is in place and disabled facilities are available.

The Bingley Bonfire is a community service event and profits are used to help the many charitable causes and events supported by Rotary.

We hope that by attending this organised bonfire and firework display, the spectators will enjoy the evening knowing that they are in turn helping others less fortunate than themselves.
