Woodfest Press Release
Woodfest 2014 is back 25th & 26th July – A fabulous Family Festival!
Local Music festival Woodfest returns 25th to 27th July again supporting Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice. Woodfest is a low cost live music festival packed with high quality entertainment and camping all weekend. The event which last year raised £16,000 is situated at Highcliffe Farm near Crossroads overlooking the wonderful Bronte County.
The weekend is set to be full of exciting live music from both returning bands and new bands as they provide entertainment throughout Friday evening and all day Saturday. Friday will see around 8 bands performing throughout the evening including a Woodfest newcomer ‘Declan Vink’ and also the 3 piece pop/rock band ‘My Forever’ will be headlining the set after technical problems meant they could perform last year.
Saturday will come to life at 1pm when another live band takes to the stage to kick start the entertainment followed by the Battle Of The Bands competition where the winner will then perform again later that evening along with 6 other accomplished acts. There is still places available for the battle of the bands competition and those interested are asked to contact the organisers via the Woodfest facebook page. Saturday evening sees the return of a number of bands such as ‘NOWT’, ‘Indianic’, Brian J Comber with his new band ‘MESA’ and the Rock Alternative quartet ‘You Had Me At Hello’ will be back to headline!
As well as all the incredible live music, the festival also has weekend camping available. Sue Ryder Regional Fundraiser Andrew Wood says that things are shaping up nicely for a great weekend of fresh air, family fun and great music. He added, “Last year there were a few people who spoiled the great Woodfest atmosphere in the camping area and so this year we’ve doubled security and placed a perimeter fence around the festival area, this has come at a cost but we need to make sure that the down side of last year’s event is not repeated.” Woodfest has a fully licensed bar and catering stands and also free parking for the whole weekend; the festival is one that can be enjoyed by everyone, having something for all ages and making it suitable for families.
Discounted tickets are now available in advance from the website www.woodfest.org.uk and various outlets locally including most pubs and local Sue Ryder Shops. Advance ticket prices are: Friday evening £7, All day Saturday £8, and the full weekend £12, this year camping will an additional £5 per person which it is intended will cover some of the additional security costs. Tickets will be available on the gate at full price and are subject to capacity.
