Keep it Local Bingley

How you can help your local economy…

…and why you should get involved!

keepitlocalWe first tried to get a Shop Local campaign off the ground back in 2010 when we published the Prosider Magazine. We didn’t think it through properly and found it difficult to gain support from local businesses and you “the community:

So here we are nearly 4 years later with a Plan… 4 years in the making.

We want you to get involved in Keep it local Bingley, because it’s your town and you can help make a difference.

We have a Facebook Group for our Keep it Local Bingley campaign where we hope to start sharing more information over coming months.

So what’s it all about?

It’s about recognising what great little businesses that we do have in the area, those little gems run by local people, employing local people and offering great service (with a smile) along quality products or service.

It’s about me, you, our children and our community!

These “Little Gems” actually help our local economy, and you can help by trying to spend just a portion of your monthly budget locally…

Who and Why?

If you live near in or near Bingley or you have a business here then read on to find out why you should get involved.

We started this campaign because we love living here; we’re blessed in so many ways to live in such a lovely place. We have so many great things that we take for granted. Stunning countryside, the Five Rise Locks, St Ives Estate, Goit Stock Waterfalls and woods, Harden Moor, Shipley Glenn, Saltaire is on our doorstep and the Yorkshire Dales are just minutes away.

Yet, our town, like many others has had it tough. Rising costs for business owners and generally less in our pockets than just a few years ago means our town has suffered.

We are all guilty of convenience shopping; it’s just so easy. The supermarkets have it all under one roof; they have offers and deals that entice us to buy things that we don’t even need.

We aim to bring you offers that will hopefully entice you to spend just a small percentage of your monthly budget locally, with one of our little gems.

We’ll bring you reviews and share feedback about how we can make our town a thriving shopping experience once again.

It’s not just about Bingley though, it’s about the surrounding areas and local traders, local produce, local jobs and putting our hard earned wages back where it belongs, in OUR community.

So, please get involved today. Make a commitment to spend at least £10 per week locally and you’ll be making a difference. If you’re a business, get in touch to find out how you can help us to help you…

More coming soon…
