As reported in the last issue of the Bingley Hub, The Bradford Camera Club stated that their annual competitions are imminent and that during September / October I needed to decide which pictures I was to enter. As I write this article in mid October I am relieved to report that we, that is Judy and I have printed all that we are to put forward and sorted the images ready for the competitions.
Quite a relief as the selection is the worst task to decide which “may” be winners !! I submit two for your approval , the portraits are of mother and daughter wrapped in a velvet cloth to create something different and the cross was taken in Undercliffe cemetery with the grasses catching the evening light, I call this “moving memorial” I must admit that I enjoy the annual competitions even though they are a pain to select the entries, it is the chance to have one’s work judged and take the flack if the judge thinks they are rubbish !! Since starting again on the 1st of September we have had some new members at the Bradford Camera Club and we are helping them to understand their cameras and equipment as that’s what camera clubs are all about. If you are not getting the results you would wish for, then come to one of our meetings and let us help you move forward and show you what constitutes a good photograph.
Our programme for November is :- 6th a “Mix and Match” competition and fun night with Bingley C.C. . 13th and 20th are parts 3 & 4 of the annual competitions and then on the 27th we will discuss the annual competitions. On the 4th of December we will hold our Christmas party – all meetings are at Bradford Camera Club, Carlton House, 46 Little Horton Lane, BD5 0BA – you can call 01535 273709 or Allan Ogilvie on 01274 884187 or visit our website: Bradford Camera Club
